Shamar Smith Jr., a 4-year-old boy, was mistakenly dropped off at the wrong bus stop by his school bus driver. His mother, Maisha Mark, was out of town for her birthday, and his aunt was supposed to pick him up. However, Shamar did not get off at the expected stop, leading to panic and concern about his whereabouts. Shamar wears a tag with identifying information, but the driver claimed not to have seen him. Eventually, Shamar was returned to Anor Elementary School by a stranger. The school allowed Mark to view the bus video, which showed the driver letting Shamar off after his stop and leaving him with a stranger. Mark expressed her frustration and disbelief that the driver would entrust her son to a stranger, especially one of a different race. The school district stated that the procedures from that day are under review and will be addressed appropriately. Despite being grateful to the woman who took care of Shamar, Mark decided not to let him ride the bus again, which is disappointing for Shamar as he loves riding the bus.
