Figma - Updates to our pricing, seats, and billing experience | Figma

Figma is set to introduce significant updates to its seat types and billing system starting March 11, 2025. The new seat types include Full, Dev, and Collab, each offering access to different sets of Figma products. The Full seat provides access to Figma Design, DevMode, Figma Slides, and FigJam. The Dev seat includes DevMode, Figma Slides, and FigJam, while the Collab seat offers editor access to FigJam and Figma Slides. Additionally, a free View seat remains available for viewing and commenting. These changes simplify seat management for admins, who will now manage one seat per user across products. The billing updates give admins upfront control over seat upgrades, requiring approval for any that incur additional costs. Admins can choose from three approval settings: manual approval, automatic approval if seats are available, or automatic approval for all requests. Temporary access for up to three days is provided for first-time paid seat requests. The updates also include a shift to a licensing model with prorated billing, replacing the True up model for organization and enterprise accounts. Furthermore, Figma plans to introduce Connected Projects to facilitate collaboration with external teams, available on all paid plans in 2025.
